What is Digital Electricity®?

VoltServer’s patented Digital Electricity® technology delivers power through packetized energy over standard data cables, combining high power with inherent safety. Transmitters send hundreds of energy packets per second to receivers, checking for faults after each packet and halting transmission in milliseconds if detected. This eliminates risks associated with traditional AC or HVDC and supports thousands of watts over long distances using low-voltage wiring.

What is Fault Managed Power?

Fault Managed Power (FMP) is VoltServer’s method for intelligently distributing electricity, actively monitoring and controlling flow to limit energy during faults. FMP combines the power of AC with the safety of PoE, enabling safe delivery of significant power using off-the-shelf data cables. Pioneered by VoltServer, with 1,000+ complex projects implemented worldwide.

What is NEC Class 4 Power?

NEC Class 4 Power, as defined in the 2023 National Electrical Code Article 726, encompasses VoltServer’s Fault-Managed Power Systems for safe, high-power distribution. Class 4 systems actively monitor voltage and current, providing protection from fire and shock, allowing flexible installation without traditional constraints. VoltServer invented and commercialized this technology, with UL certifications and deployments in over 1,000 projects worldwide.
